ICE SCULPTURE EXPOSITION IN BRUGES 2008

On wednesday my friend and I visited the yearly ice sculpture exposition in Bruges (Belgium). The exposition was in a big tent where the temperature is kept at - 6°C (21°F). In total 300 tons (662.000 lbs) of ice and 400 tons (882.000 lbs) of snow have been used to build the sculptures. A team of approx. 40 artist from the UK, Canada, USA, Estonia, Finland, Venezuela, Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands and Belgium built the snow and ice sculptures over a three-week period. The theme is based on magic which has been practiced for centuries by powerful wizards, witches and other wise men and women. You will see some of them even Harry Potter !
